5-star hotel staff arrested for molesting 8-year-old

Chennai: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a house-keeping staff of Taj Coromandel, a five-star hotel in the city, on Monday night.

The incident happened inside the men’s toilet of the hotel while the girl's uncle was waiting for her outside the loo. Hearing her cry for help, the uncle rushed inside and found the girl struggling to wriggle out of the clutches of a hotel employee. She complained that the youth had molested her.People who gathered there bashed up the culprit, Dinesh (25).

Late in the night, he was handed over to police. Police said Dinesh was working in the house-keeping section of the hotel. However, he was not a regular employee, they said. He was produced before a city magistrate court which remanded in custody till January 31.

Hotel authorities said they were cooperating with the police and added that Dinesh was hired through a Malaysian placement agency.
