Mr G S Rajagopal will be the new Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He will also hold additional charge of the Director General of the National Security Guard. He is an IPS officer of the 1971 batch from the Rajasthan cadre.

Mr D Mukherjee, currently Additional Director of the CBI, has been appointed Director General of the National Human Rights Commission.  Till recently, Mr Rajagopal was the DG of the Human Rights Commission.

He will take the place of A.K.Mitra, IPS (UP:70) who has been appointed as Director General of the Border Security Force. Mitra replaces R.S.Mooshahary. D.Mukherjee, currently Additional Director, CBI has been appointed Director General, National Human Rights Commission.  (ANI)
