KANNUR, JUNE 13. Three Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers were arrested last night in connection with the murder of the National Development Front (NDF) worker, P.V. Muhammad, at Punnad near Iritty here last week.
The arrested have been identified as P.P. Shaiju (23), V.V. Chandran (25) and E.V. Ratnakaran (34). The police said the three were arrested from Koottupuzha on the Kerala-Karnataka border last night when they were waiting for a bus to go to Bangalore. They were said to be directly involved in the act of crime, the police said.
The Iritty police listed 20 RSS workers as accused in the murder case.
The accused included the district RSS Vibhak Pracharak, Valsan Thillankery.
