No clue on motive behind attack

Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have found several discrepancies in the statement of the 18-year-old boy, Denis John Joseph, who sustained injuries after he was allegedly kidnapped by an armed gang from Ambalamukku on Monday afternoon. Circle Inspector, Peroorkada K.G. Suresh said the motive for the crime was yet to be established. The police was informed of the incident only on Tuesday. The boy, who had a mobile phone, did not make any calls to his family or the police when the abductors tailed him several times. The boy told the police that his abductors had made no attempt to harm him. He was attacked by two other persons when he was freed near Kuravankonam around 5.45 p.m. A local resident rushed the boy to hospital. City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham said police were investigating whether any business rivalry was the motive for the attack.
