Telugu Desam leader stages novel protest
Hyderabad: In a novel protest, Telugu Desam Party leader M V Mysoora Reddy yesterday brushed his teeth, took bath and ate breakfast — all by the roadside here.
He was protesting against the municipal authorities’ action in erecting fencing around his house, which has blocked entry to his residence. People stopped and found to their surprise the former minister taking a bath with just a towel around his waist. He than sat by the roadside along with some other party leaders to eat breakfast."When I returned from the village (in Kadapa district) this morning I found that they had raised the fencing leaving no opening to enter the house," complained Reddy.
He said he had surrendered 100 square yards of his prime property for road widening but the officials of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad encroached more land to lay the footpath.
"The Congress government is doing this deliberately to target me," said Reddy, who resigned from the Congress just before the 2004 assembly elections. "I will continue the protest."
