THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI officials on Wednesday raided the offices of two travel agencies and the house and office of an advocate here.
The CBI team, comprising officers from Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram, seized several passports and other documents from the offices of the travel agencies. The raids were conducted in connection with a job fraud case registered by the CBI court in Chennai.
The raids were conducted on the offices of Travel India functioning at Statue Junction and Universal Travels functioning at Kanjirampara. The house and office of advocate Koliyakode Rajiv, a CPM leader, was also raided. The raids, which started in the morning, concluded late in the evening.
A person had registered a complaint with the Peroorkada police in 2001 that job racketeers had cheated him of Rs 4 lakh. He later approached the High Court which handed over the case to the CBI.
