The students of the city’s Don Bosco Public school on Thursday organised a prayer for the early release of their 15-year-old schoolmate, Nirmalendu Prakash Diwakar, who remains untraced for the third day despite raids being carried out by the police at different places in the state capital and its adjoining districts.
The students and staff of the school held a mass prayer in the campus at the initiative of an NGO, ‘Oxygen’, on Thursday morning, for the early return of the class IX student.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured a delegation of the Children Welfare Association (CWA), which met him in connection with the kidnapping, that the police were on the job and the boy would be rescued soon.
The delegation demanded the formation of a school security task force for the safety of students.
Meanwhile, "Oxygen" appealed to the people to observe a “public fast” on April 25 against the rising number of children’s kidnapping
