# Says five Ministers absented themselves from Cabinet meet
# Alleges hide and seek by UDF on implementation of report
PATHANAMTHITTA: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has alleged that the United Democratic Front Government has been consciously delaying the action-taken report (ATR) on the Narendran Commission recommendations.
Mr. Vijayan, who had toured the district as part of his Kerala March, was addressing a press conference at the party office in Mallappally on Friday.
Mr. Vijayan said the United Democratic Front (UDF) had been playing hide and seek with regard to the implementation of the Narendran panel report and the absence of five Ministers at Friday’s Cabinet meet, which was supposed to discuss the report, was a pointer in this regard.
Mr. Vijayan said the CPI(M) was the first to welcome the Narendran Commission report, adding that the party would make its stand clear once the Government brought out the ATR.
He alleged that the Indian Union Muslim League had raised the issue only in the wake of its defeat in the previous Lok Sabha general elections even in its stronghold of Manjeri.
Asked about the CPI(M) stand on the demand for special recruitment for backward communities, Mr. Vijayan said that the party had got clear-cut policies on every issue, and it would clarify its stand once the Government published the ATR.
