Tuesday, January 31, 2006 (New Delhi): The Delhi High Court is scheduled to deliver its judgment on nursery school admissions on Tuesday. A division bench of the court had given an ultimatum to unaided public schools in December last year, asking them to stop conducting interviews for admission.
The schools were asked to come up with an alternative admission procedure that would cater to all children in a neighbourhood. They were also given four weeks to come up with the proposal, which they are expected to submit to the court. The move came in the wake of a PIL filed, seeking a ban on such interviews
