NEW DELHI, Feb 6 (Reuters) – A gas cylinder exploded in a crowded bus on Monday, killing 15 people in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
The accident occured in the state’s Morena district, about 340 km (210 miles) north of state capital Bhopal, an official at the police control room in Bhopal told Reuters over phone.
"Our preliminary information is 15 people were killed when a cooking cylinder kept inside a bus exploded," he said. "It may also have been kept on top of the bus."
A police official in Morena town said around 12 passengers were also injured in the explosion, which caused a fire in the bus.
