HAJIPUR: Even as schoolchildren from different parts of the state during an interaction with CM Nitish Kumar at a function in Patna on Wednesday sought to know from him why was it that police could not check kidnapping menace, reports from Vaishali district said yet another schoolboy — Amaresh Kumar — was kidnapped on Tuesday evening. While the Vaishali police still groped in dark to trace the abducted class IV student of Guru Vashisht School, Sumit Kumar; Amaresh, a class XI student of Bafapur Sharma-based Novodaya Vidyalaya, was kidnapped by criminals on Tuesday evening.
Police sources said Amaresh, son of Dina Nath Rai — a prosperous farmer of Bafapur Sharma village — went missing under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday morning. Principal Jagat Narayan Singh lodged a complaint with the Lalganj police station in Vaishali district on Tuesday night after efforts to search him proved futile. Hajipur SDPO (sadar) Anil Kumar said Amaresh was last seen loitering on the school premises by one of his cousins, who is also a student of the same school. "But Amaresh did not attend his classes and simply vanished," he said, adding somebody later made a telephone call from a phone booth located close to Amaresh’s residence and informed about the kidnapping. The abductors also cont-acted one of Amaresh’s relative at Paura village and demanded a huge ransom for the safe release of the boy, the SDPO said.
