Two women Maoists remanded to police custody

MIDNAPORE (WB): A court in Jhargram on Thursday remanded two women Maoists, arrested from Bhulebheda in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district to seven days police custody. The two Maoists, identified as Bimala Sardar and Sulekha Mahato, were produced before the sub-divisional judicial magistrate, Jhargram court who sent them to police remand. Police said the two were members of a local squad of Maoists and raised funds for the outfit in villages and had been trained at Goaltore along with cadres from Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, posters seeking their release have come up in Konnangar town in Hooghly district today. The posters, put up near a girl’s school and a police outpost, demanded unconditional release of the two women. In the posters, Maoists charged the CPI(M) With hindering the process of development in the state.
