Sivaganga, Feb 12: A four-member gang, including a Kerala based ‘Tantrik’, were arrested today for cheating an agent, who was recruiting employees for foreign companies, to the tune of Rs two lakh, police said. The entire amount was recovered from them, they said. Police said the agent was facing difficulties after he suffered a loss in his business and approached the tantrik through friend who is clerk in the National Highways department, for help. The tantrik agreed to help and asked the man for Rs two lakh in cash, promising him that he would double the amount, using his powers. He then peformed a pooja with the help of three others at a house at Aravankadu near here on February 8.The Tantrik advised the agent to look into the suitcase after an hour and left the house. The man did as instructed and was shocked to find that the money had vanished. He then lodged a complaint with police, who launched a hunt and arrested the gang members this morning.
