Kozhikode: The Marad Judicial Commission, which probed the communal riots that claimed nine lives at Marad beach in the district in May 2003, will submit its report to the government on February 20. The two volume report will be handed over to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at Thiruvananthapuram by Justice Thomas P. Joseph, Court sources said.
The one man judicial commission was appointed on 20, December, 2003 to investigate the riots that rocked the state on May 2, 2003. Altogether 120 witnesses deposed before the Commission during 110 sittings and verified 622 records.
The term of the Commission, which incurred an expenditure of Rs 16,08,385 while in office for nearly three years, will expire on February 22
