Mysore, Feb. 19 (MRS&BLU)- Traders belonging to Muslim community are observing bandh in city today in protest against the controversial cartoon of the Prophet in a Denmark daily.
Several shops on Sawdey Road, Pulikeshi Road, Ashoka Road near Meelad Bagh and in Mandi Mohalla remained closed.
Few shops are likely to shut business in the evening.
A public meeting to condemn the cartoon will be held at Meelad Bagh at 6.30 pm which will be presided over by Moulana Mufti Ashraf Ali from Bangalore.
Islamic Fiqh Academy General Secretary Moulana Khalid Saifulla Rehman (Hyderabad), Moulana Luthfulla Saheb Rishadi (Bangalore), former Minister Tanveer Sait and Moulana Mohd. Sadiq of Siddiqia Arabic College (Mysore) will address the meeting.
