PURI, Feb. 18. — Close on the heels of its bitter wrangle with the BJP, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad today said it would not extend its exclusive support to any political party in future.
“The sants have decided that no single party will get our support. We will support outfits, which back the Hindu agenda,” VHP international president Ashok Singhal said here today. “What we need is a votebank, not a political party,” he said on the sidelines of the two-day “Dharma Samsad” which commenced here this morning.
