New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) The police today arrested an activist of the Shiv Sena after some activists of its Delhi unit indulged in stone throwing at the OB van of a TV channel to protest against the telecast on the channel of a play that allegedly "satarised" Sena chief Bal Thackeray.
Police said at about 1500 hours, a few Sena activists, threw stones at an OB van of the channel that was standing at the Kasturba Gandhi Marg, breaking the glass of the front screen of the vehicle.
The activists were incensed by the telecast on Zee TV of a skit titled `Kaka Mala Vachva’ (uncle, save me), allegedly commenting on the power tussle within the Thackeray family, They have arrested one Sena activist Hari Om in connection with the incident. Hunt is on for the remaining activists, the police said.
The skit was presented at the Zee Marathi annual awards and later telecast on ZEE TV.
Sena workers had earlier ransacked the Zee TV office in Lower Parel in central Mumbai last week and had asked the channel not to telecast the skit, failing which it would invite more ire of the Sainiks.
However, in a clarification earlier, Mr Nitin Vaidya, Business Head, Zee Marathi said the play was not intended to hurt sentiments of the Thackeray family UNI
