THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three accused in the Neyyattinkara Bishop’s House attack case, Manoj, Prathapan and Shaji, surrendered before Crime Branch SP T J Jose at the Crime Branch SP Office here at 10.45 am on Tuesday.

According to sources, the Crime Branch will file the chargesheet in the court soon. Another accused in the case Anu alias Vinod is still absconding.

The Neyyattinkara First Class Magistrate Court had earlier granted bail to the first and second accused Sajinlal and Santhibhooshan on the ground that the chargesheet in the case was not filed even after 90 days of arresting them.

The seventh accused in the case, Prasanth, was not granted bail. The first, second and seventh accused were arrested by the Crime Branch on November 10. The weapons used for the attack could not be recovered yet.

The attack on the Bishop’s House occurred in the wee hours of October 17. Sajinlal was a Congress worker. Sajinlal’s alleged involvement in the case was one of the poll planks of the LDF during the last Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha byelection. The Neyyattinkara Diocese was on a war path alleging a move to sabotage the investigation.
