VHP to support family members of convicted in best bakery case
Vadodara, Feb 25: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will assist and support the family members of those convicted in the best bakery retrial case.
"VHP will meet and discuss the situation arising out of verdict of special court in Mumbai and would provide legal assistance to the convicted to fight their case in the high court," senior VHP leader Vijayendra Puri, said here today.
Vijayendra Puri and Ajay Joshi president of the local unit of VHP visited the Hanuman Tekri area where the best bakery is located.
"If a Muslim woman can approach apex court for retrial of the case, then VHP will also take this fight in the high court," Vijayendra said.
He also handed over a cheque for Rs 5,000 to the blind son of Dinesh Rajbhar, who was awarded life imprisonment in the case.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Minister of State for Protocol and Primary Education Bhupendra Lakhawala accompanied by president of the city unit BJP Shabdasharan Brambhatt visited the family members of convicted and assured assistance.
