Indian govt fixes recruitment fees

DOHA: The Indian government has prescribed maximum service charges that recruiting agents are allowed to collect for recruiting Indians from India for working abroad.

These do not include the commissions that the agents may collect from the prospective foreign employers, according to a press release issued by the Indian embassy yesterday.

The service charges are as follows: Unskilled workers QR2,000; Semi Skilled workers QR3,000; Skilled workers QR5,000, Others QR10,000. For recruitment of unskilled workers from India, attestation of power of attorney and demand letters by the embassy are mandatory
