New Delhi, Feb 23 : Accusing the UPA government of adopting "Muslim appeasement" policies, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today condemned the arrest of a Delhi-based magazine editor, who had reproduced the controversial Danish cartoons caricaturing Prophet Mohammad.
"The arrest of Alok Tomar is an example of the Muslim appeasement policies of the government. If he is guilty of hurting religious sentiments, why M F Hussain is not arrested? This is double standards," senior VHP leader Acharya Giriraj Kishore told reporters here.
Asked if the announcement of reward by a Lucknow-based Hindu organisation for eliminating Hussain is right, he evaded a direct reply and said no objection was raised when a UP minister announced reward for killing the Danish cartoonist.
