KOZHIKODE: Extremism and superstitions are alien to Islam and those who support extremism are actually helping the enemies to misrepresent the religion, Sheik Abdulla Abdul Muhsin Alusheik, Islamic scholar and head of religious affair, Saudi Arabia, said here on Sunday.

He was inaugurating the concluding function of the six-month campaign launched by the Mujahid Students Movement.

It is a crime to insult Prophet. But it is equally unIslamic to resort to violence as a mark of protest, he said, hinting at the controversy raging on the cartoon issue.
