New Delhi, Feb 27 : Any information on 25 million strong expatriate Indian community is now just a mouse-click away with the launch of a multi-lingual website here today.
The website — www.Overseasindian.In — an iniative of the Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry was launched by its minister Vayalar Ravi.
This "one-stop information resource", the e-version of ‘Overseas Indian’ — a monthly on Indian diaspora launched last month — will provide information regarding Indian diaspora and act as an interactive platform for the diaspora.
"We have designed the website in such a way that it act as an interactive platform for the Indian expatriates where they can contribute news, hold discussions, send feedback and spell out their grievances," Ravi said.
He said the website now provides articles on subjects related to diaspora and access to data on expatriates living in various countries.
The website will provide editions of the magazine in all eight languages it is published — English, Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Telugu, Gurumukhi, Tamil and Urdu. The publication of the magazine in Gurumukhi, Tamil and Urdu started this month only.
