Left protest against Bush visit improper: BJP

Thiruvananthapuram, March 3: The BJP took exception to the protest by the Left parties inside and outside Parliament over the visit of US President George W. Bush and said they were "cheating" people. It is not proper on Left parties to protest like this when a head of nation visit our country even though there were differences of opinion," party vice-president Venkaiah Naidu said inaugurating the ‘Jana Samrakshna Yatra’ organised by the party’s district unit.

He said Left parties, which support the UPA government from outside, were "cheating" the people by organising protest when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was embracing the visiting US President.

Lashing out at the Centre’s reported move for head count of Muslims in the Indian Army, he said it was part of UPA government’s "minority appeasement policy" and asked the people to jointly resist such moves.
