NEW DELHI: Uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Lok Sabha on Friday over United States security personnel taking a sniffer dog on the pathway around Mahatma Gandhi’ samadhi at Rajghat before US President George W Bush’s arrival there to pay his obeisance on Thursday.
Waving a newspaper, Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Janata Dal-United) said "the United Progressive Alliance government has lowered the national prestige and they should apologise to the nation."
He was supported by Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Ram Kirpal Yadav and members from the Bahujan Samaj Party.
Later the agitated members were pacified by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi.
Bharatiya Janata Party members stalled proceedings for a short while protesting against Madhya Pradesh being ignored in the Railway Budget.
Shouting slogans against Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, the members stormed into the well soon after the House met.
Normalcy was restored soon, and Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal went ahead with Question Hour.
