More than 50 naxalite commanders from naxal infested districts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh recently underwent a training camp jointly organised by ‘Art of Living Foundation’ and ‘Kunju Vani’, a voluntary group.
The camp dealt in Yoga and meditation techniques. Official sources said the naxalites were seeking succour from their violent and subversive activities at the camp. The programme was organised at village Bhainswar in the naxal infested Dhaurawal tehsil of Sonebhadra district of UP. Camp instructor Kiran Singh said the naxalites displayed zeal and willingness to learn during the course. She said the participants were allowed to undergo the training on the recommendation and initiative of the local people.
Meanwhile, Sonebhadra Police Superintendent Raghuvir Lal said the matter would be investigated, since the local intelligence and police failed to know about the camp
