KOCHI: The employees of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have expressed strong protest over the frisking of staff by the police, as part of its measures to strengthen security on the campus.
The members of the Cochin University Women’s Welfare Organisation has decided to launch protest programmes before the registrar on Thursday.
In a press release issued here Cochin University Employees’ Association has asked the authorities to revoke this decision.
University Registrar A Ramachandran said that top police officers have informed the university that they were following the court order. We hope this would not continue for long, the registrar said.
