The holi celebrations conducted by Indian Association Dubai at the Creek Park yesterday, attracted hundreds of people who thronged the venue from 10am. As part of the celebrations, kite flying was also conducted. Hundreds of families including children took part by spraying colours on one another and dancing with the music.
"It was a good experience for me. I was always missing India and celebrations like this always evoke nostalgia. I could see children enjoying and it is also a bridge for them to their culture,” said Meena Mohan, a resident of Dubai. She pointed out that most of the children living here do not often get to explore the culture of their motherland. This kind of celebrations they will enjoy and it will teach them some things about a great culture.
"I came with my wife and children in the morning. It was a good experience for my family and for me. More celebrations like this connected with the culture of the home land are needed," said Gurcharan Singh.
