Sodomy case comes to light in Maharashtra Governor's residence

Mumbai: Mumbai Police are on the lookout for an associate of a Raj Bhavan employee, who is suspected of sexually assaulting a young boy within the premises of the gubernatorial residence.

Pramod Jadhav (42) is allegedly accused of having lured the 12-year old victim with chocolates to his house, sodomised him and later on sexually exploited him, police sources said.

The police is suspecting a breach of security, and is wondering how the victim could obtain entry into the Raj Bhavan premises.

The accused used to stay in the employees’ quarters near the Raj Bhavan estate at Malabar Hill in south Mumbai, with his brother, a Raj Bhavan employee.

The incident that took place on March 10, came to light on Sunday when the victim complained of abdominal pain to his mother.

The family of the victim lodged a complaint with the Malabar Hill Police Station on Monday, and the victim’s preliminary medical check-up report confirmed that the boy was sexually exploited.

However, before any action could be taken Jadhav managed to escape. A case of sodomy has been registered under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code against Jadhav.
