THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lok Ayukta on Thursday ordered a probe into the alleged irregularities in a land deal involving the family members of Finance Minister Vakkom Purushothaman.
A Division Bench of the Lok Ayukta ordered the inquiry by its investigation wing and directed that the inquiry report should be submitted before June 20, the date on which the case will be considered.
The probe was ordered on a petition filed by a native of Thiruvananthapuram. The petitioner had alleged that the family members of the minister, his two sons and son-in-law, had purchased land worth Rs 15 crore at Vattappara on the outskirts of the city and the land was undervalued for registration purposes.
