KOLLAM: The parents of a 13-year-old boy complained that the police subjected their son to torture by passing electricity to his body through his genital.

Parents Thankappan and Nandini, allege that the Pathanapuram police took their son, Akhil of the Punnala Inchikuzhi Puthuval Veedu, into custody on April 5 in connection with a theft case of rubber sheets. While in custody, the police passed electricity to a metal by connecting it to the switchboard of the station building and pressed it to his genital.

Though the exhausted boy was produced before the magistrate court, he did not tell anything to the court, as he was afraid of the police.

The boy had undergone treatment at the Punalur Government Hospital and at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. He was later sent to the Juvenile Home here.

Akhil said that he was feeling a burning sensation while passing urine and his genital is swollen. His parents are planning to file a private complaint against the police.
