PUNE: Police carried out intensive searches at two campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University after receiving calls that bombs were planted there.

However, they turned out to be hoax calls, police said. The police control room had received a call at 8.30 am saying a bomb had been placed at the university's Lal Bahadur Shahstri campus. Following this, a bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search of the premises, but found nothing.

Another call received at about 9.30 am informed the control room about another bomb at the university's Dhankawadi campus. A search there too yielded nothing, police added.
