Self-proclaimed Sadhu held for kidnapping, selling children

MORENA: A self-proclaimed Sadhu, allegedly involved in abducting children from small towns and selling them off in metro cities, was arrested and three boys were rescued from his custody at Sikroda railway station near here, police said on Wednesday.

The accused Jaikishan Ahuja was arrested on Tuesday and Hemant (10) and Sinku Jatav (12) both hailing from Morena and Jitendra (10) of Gwalior, were rescued, police said.

After Ahuja was caught by for travelling without a ticket in the Sachkhand Express and asked to alight from the train, some villagers informed the police after seeing him moving in a suspicious manner, they said.

The self-proclaimed Sadhu later confessed that he had abducted the boys and was on way to Delhi to sell them off.

Ahuja also gave information about two children he had sold off in Delhi and Mumbai for Rs 1000 each, following which teams were dispatched to the cities, police said.

A case was registered against Ahuja while the boys were handed over to their parents, who rushed to the village soon after getting the information, police added.
