New Delhi, May 19: President A P J Abdul Kalam has asked the Muslim religious leaders to ensure enlightment of the youth of Kashmir as a ‘prosperous Kashmir will make a prosperous India’.
During an interaction with 42 maulvis from Rajouri and Poonch area of Jammu region, who are in the national capital as part of the Army’s ‘chetna yatra’, the President told the group on Thursday evening had a dual responsibility to inculcate bigger responsibilities–one as teacher of madrassas (religious school) and second as Imam’s of mosques–in youth, Rashtrapathi Bhavan spokesman S M Khan said.
The maulvis were on the ‘chetna yatra’ under the ‘operation sadhbhavna’ initiated by the Army units engaged in the counter-insurgency operations.
The President asked them to spread the message of love, peace and brotherhood among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to make them enlightened and better citizens. “Prosperous Kashmir will make prosperous India,” the spokesman quoted the President as saying.
