Five VHP men discharged for possession of trishuls
AJMER, MAY 22 (PTI)
A local court today discharged five VHP activists for alleged possession of around 650 'trishuls' (tridents) after Rajasthan government withdrew cases against them registered under the Arms Act in 2003.
Judicial Magistrate Rajendra Sharma discharged Janwari Lal, Sarveshwar Agarwal, Gopi Krishna Shriya, Dinesh Agarwal and B P Sarswat after the matter was heard in his court.
The tridents allegedly collected by them VHP leaders were to be distributed VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia at a "Trishuls Diksha" function here in Subhash Bagh here on April 13, 2003.
Togadia's case is pending in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's court as the state police have not yet filed a chargesheet.
