Chandigarh: The woman Army officer, who had accused her Commanding Officer of sexually assaulting her and left the Military Hospital at Jammu without informing her unit, has reached home in Kerala.
The officer had "safely reached her home" and her unit has been able to establish contact with her, an army spokesperson told PTI here over telephone from Jammu today adding, "she is in touch with her unit." Asked about future action against her for having left the Military Hospital without any intimation, he said that as and when she reports back after clearing her domestic issues, normal action as per rules prescribed in such cases will be taken against her.
The present status of the officer, a Lieutenant, is absent without leave, he said.
She had accused her CO posted in the Judge Advocate General branch of the 16 Corps, based at Nagrota near Jammu, of molesting and harassing her.
The Northern Command located at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir is presently conducting an inquiry into the complaint made by her to the GOC of the 16 Corps.
