IMPHAL, May 22: The family of one amongst two youths who were slain by a combined team of Manipur police commandos and the 14 AR on May 20 at Kanglatongbi have claimed that the youth, Tayab Ali, was an innocent man working as a conductor for a passenger bus.
14 AR troops and police commandos had gunned down the two youths including Tayab Ali on May 20 at Kanglatongbi and claimed that both were members of INF.
Sources said Tayab Ali, 15 son of Md Taher originally hailing from Kwakta Santhong Tera Khongsangbi had been living with his mother at a rented house at Minuthong Hatta and had been working as bus conductor since a year back. He left his rented house some 17 days back to stay at the residence of the bus owner.
Tayab Ali`s father Md Taher strongly refuted claims of the security forces that his son was a member of INF. He also demanded justice from government over the death of his son.
Family and relatives have however taken Tayab Ali`s body after post mortem at RIMS today.
The other youth is yet to be identified and the dead body is still lying at RIMS mortuary.
