Ahmedabad – The premises of the city court here were evacuated Monday afternoon following a bomb scare that turned out to be a hoax, police said.
An unidentified person called up the city police headquarters from a public telephone booth and said there was a bomb in the court premises in Bhadra locality in the heart of the city, police said.
Police immediately rushed to the spot along with a bomb disposal team and a dog squad and searched the court premises for about two hours, but did not find anything suspicious there.
In Gujarat, there have been many instances of bomb hoaxes in major cities and towns in recent times, particularly since a bomb blast at the Ahmedabad railway station on Feb 19 that injured 14 people.
