UJC dissociates itself from Doda, Zakura incidents

Srinagar, May 29: United Jihad Council, an amalgam of half-a-dozen Kashmiri militant outfits, has dissociated itself from “some recent incidents before and after the roundtable conference in Srinagar.”
In a faxed statement Monday, Syed Sadaqat Hussain, a spokesman of the UJC, said “such incidents are being carried out by Indian intelligence agencies to malign the freedom movement in Kashmir and to alienate people, including Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs from Mujahideen.”
“The killing of low cast Hindus at Doda was a plot of Indian intelligence agencies,” he alleged, adding the grenade attack on the procession against the killings was also carried out by “the same agencies.”
“The police recovered BJP and Bajrangh Dal identity cards from the suspicious person arrested on the spot,” Sadaqat said.
“After that Indian Army tried to kill members of minority Hindu community at Mattan Islamabad. But the attempt was foiled by local people and police,” he alleged, adding the explosion in a tourist bus at Zakura that killed four Gujarati tourists and injured many was “again a maneuvering of the intelligence agencies as police itself admitted that there was no grenade attack nor any mine blast.”
“And recently Indian army molested a teenage girl at Singhpora Pattan that enraged the whole population,” Sadaqat said.
Regretting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s attribution of such incidents to militants, the spokesman said “he does not know what happens under his nose.”
“Manmohan Singh should go through Pandey Commission Report on the Chattisinghpora killings,” the UJC spokesman added.
He appealed to international human rights agencies to probe these incidents in an impartial manner so that the culprits are punished.
