Ras Al Khaimah: An Indian expatriate will be deported after serving a jail term for selling pornographic movies.
The Misdemeanor Court sentenced the man to three months in jail, a Dh3,000 fine and deportation after serving the prison term, said a senior court official.
The court also ordered the public prosecution to seize the pornographic CDs and destroy them.
A court official said police raided a shop and seized pornographic CDs and arrested the owner following a tip-off.
The suspect confessed to the charges.
In another case, the Misdemeanor Court sentenced an Indian national to a month in prison for exposing his private parts to a group of female shoppers at a mall.
The 30-year-old convict will be deported after serving the sentence, said a court official.
According to the official, the suspect told the court that he was sexually aroused after watching women in revealing clothes.
Security guards at the mall detained the man and later handed him over to the police.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to his offence and the mall's surveillance camera backed up the charges.
