Saturday, July 1, 2006 (Thiruvananthpuram):

Malayalam film actress Meera Jasmine has claimed that she entered the Hindu Rajarajeshwara temple in north Kerala.

Jasmine says even though she is a Christian she was allowed inside the temple premises on Thursday which is otherwise not open to non-Hindus.

According to reports, a purification ceremony was held at the temple since the presence of a non-Hindu had polluted the temple.

The actress has apologised for violating the norms saying that she wants to put an end to the furore.

The controversy has come into light just two days after the furore over actress Jayamala's entry into the inner sanctum of the Sabrimala temple where women are not allowed.
