Patna, July. 2 (PTI): Charging the Nitish Kumar Government with "witch-hunting" the minority Muslim community under "pressure" from its saffron partner the BJP, the RJD today said it would never allow the NDA Government to turn Bihar into another Gujarat.
Senior state RJD leader Akhlaq Ahmad alleged at the party's minority cell meeting here that the Nitish Kumar Government was targeting Muslim officials and shunting them to less important jobs.
"A sort of fear psychosis is being created among the Muslim officials that the end of RJD rule in the state meant trouble for them," Ahmad claimed while alleging it was done under "pressure" from the "communal" BJP.
The NDA Government in the state, surrounded by feudal forces was trying to make Bihar another Gujarat, he alleged adding the RJD would foil this "nefarious" design.
RJD minority cell national president and Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development M A A Fatmi in his address charged the Nitish Kumar Government with going back on its promise made before the Assembly poll for the welfare of the minorities– like strengthening about 400 madarsas in the state and constructing boundary walls around the graveyards.
Fatmi said he would visit all the districts to highlight the government's unfulfilled promises made to the Muslims.
Alleging that the NDA Government was anti-Muslim, State RJD President Abdul Bari Siddiqui said the party would fight injustice against the community.
