NDF worker hacked to death by RSS criminals

THALASSERY: A National Development Front (NDF) activist was hacked to death by RSS criminal gang here in the early hours of Sunday, Oct 23, 2006. The deceased has been identified as V.K. Muhammad Fasal (32) from nearby Muzhappilangad, who was a distributor of the Thejas Daily. His body was found with multiple stab injuries near the Saidarpalli area here early morning. The police said that he was on his way from his wife's house at Madappeedika here to the New Bus Stand to collect newspaper bundles for distribution when the attack took place.

The state home minister, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan visited the location and promised a fair and speedy enquiry in to the incident.  He commented that a great deal of conspiracy is visible from RSS act to sabotage the peace process in the area.

For the past 15 years, Kannur district is the hotbed of political rivalry between RSS and the rest which caused a death toll of more than 150. Panoor is one of the most infamous village in the area which alone witnessed 25 killings. In majority of these deaths, the thumb print of the hindu fascist organization, RSS was very visible. Fortunately, the district witnessed a  five year break of political killings until the middle of 2006. But on 14th June 2006, RSS criminal gang killed a communist party worker which again caused a cycle of violence. In an attempt to stop the violence,  police recently raided many  RSS controlled areas which discovered nearly 300 deadly weapons.

Few days back, in a huge country-bomb explosion at Nettur Nambiarpeedika, an RSS worker Renil, 22, and another activist, Shobith, 25 sustained serious injuries. Renil’s left leg had to be amputated at the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, while Shobith escaped with some injuries. The explosion occurred when RSS workers  were manufacturing bombs.

NDF district convener A.C. Jalaluddin said that Fasal was murdered by suspected Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists. The body was sent to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination.

NDF workers staged a demonstration near the General Hospital here at 11 a.m. When the police stopped the demonstration, the protestors staged a sit-in on the road affecting road traffic for 15 minutes.

The police said that more police personnel were deployed here in view of the tension following the murder. Raids were being conducted in different RSS strong holds in the areas. The crime should have orchestrated by local RSS division, but mostly the operation should have done by  a trained killer gang  or RSS who operate from the border region of  Mangalore. In many similar crimes, police investigations failed to initiate strong evidence due to the nature of operation of RSS criminals. In order to misguide investigation, Hindu fascist organization often present ' hired dummies' as the criminals to the authorities. In a later stage, they used to sabotage the investigation team with their own informants in the police forces.
