BEGUSARAI: Kidnapping, extortion and all other ills of society have again started raising their heads, putting a blot on the otherwise "Sushasan" of the state government.
In yet another slap on the face of the so-called "Sushasan", claimed by the Nitish-led NDA government, two Dalit women of a family on Saturday night were raped by four persons in Lakhanpur Sondipi village under the Muffasil police station of the district.
Rita Devi (25) and her niece Abha Devi (22) had went out to attend the nature's call when four persons pounced on them and took them forcibly to a secluded place to perpetrate the crime.
The victims, however, have admitted to Sadar Hospital for medical examinations. Rita's husband Avadh Paswan and Abha's father Chiranjivi Paswan are labourers.
An FIR, however, was lodged in the Muffasil police station on Sunday in which three unknown persons, besides one, Kapildev Yadav, of the adjacent Pathlatol village were made accused in the crime.
Sadar DSP Pankaj Kumar said the police, taking quick action after lodging of the complaint, have already arrested Kapildev, who has accepted his involvement in the crime during interrogation.
"Further interrogations are on to arrest other accused. We will launch a special drive to nab them after verifying the veracity of the statements made by the arrested accused," the DSP said.
The situation in the area is, however, reported to be peaceful and under control. Meanwhile, several LJP and Dalit Sena workers, have demanded immediate arrest of all accused and put them before a speedy trial to give them justice.
