KANPUR: Six people, including two alleged Samajwadi Yuva Morcha members, killed two witnesses of a murder case in the Etah district court premises on Wednesday.

The daring incident took place around 1 pm when six assailants opened fire at Rakshpal Singh — principal of Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Kasganj and a RSS leader — and his son Sandeep outside the gates of Fast Track Court No II. All the six assailants managed to flee from the scene of crime. Though one of the assailants suffered injuries, he was taken away by his accomplices. Rakshpal and Sandeep came to the court, as they were witnesses of the murder of one Gyanendra Maheshwari in August 2004.

In fact, Rakshpal was the intended target, but Maheshwari was gunned down by chance. Pradeep, Rakshpal's younger son, who was present in the court, identified two of the six involved. Pradeep alleged that Charan Singh Yadav and Banwari Lal Yadav were two Samajwadi Yuva Morcha members.
