NEW DELHI: RJD boss and railway minister Lalu Prasad is the latest among ministers to warn of terror threats. But he went a step further on Wednesday in soundly rapping security agencies for providing vague reports of possible attacks and called for aggressive and accurate intelligence gathering.
Following PM Manmohan Singh's exhortations to intelligence agencies to be specific in their appraisals, Lalu was even more blunt. "Please do not prepare reports sitting at home," he said. Lalu recalled his experience as Bihar CM. "I used to come across so many reports filed by Special Branch which used to be far beyond reality," he said. One could make out that "the reports had been prepared at home", he said in jest.
