SRINAGAR: A BSF jawan shot himself late on Friday night using his service rifle in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, the second such incident within a week.
The BSF spokesman said head constable Hari Om Sharma of 133 battalion shot himself at point blank range at Natnusa, Kupwara.
He was rushed to a hospital, but was declared brought dead. Sources said he was facing domestic problems.
This is the second such incident within a week where a BSF jawan has killed himself in the state. On January 21, a BSF jawan shot himself at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar.
Earlier, a CRPF sub-inspector also committed suicide in Jammu. Statistics show 66 Armymen committed suicide in 2002, 96 in 2003, 100 in 2004 and 71 till November, 2005.
