The Program focuses on the various on the tortures that have increased in the country and Karnataka in particular. Many delegates from different social strata and relatives of the victims are to attend the program. The victims who have faced torture in the State are expected to give the gathering a live account of the ordeal – both mental and physical torture.
With the trio of the Executive, the Judiciary and the member of the Press to attend the seminar, a consensus on how to effectively address this crime could be best reached on this occasion. Also will be highlighted, the Istanbul Protocol is the first set of international guidelines for documentation of torture and its consequences.
The General Secretary of the NCHRO, Adv. K P Mohammed Shareef is to preside the Seminar.
