Israeli tourists spend the most time abroad, but spend the least amount of money, according to a comparative survey by BDO survey partner Adventity Ltd. The survey found that the average Israeli tourist spends 8.2 days a year overseas, but spends just $792. For the sake of comparison, Indian tourists were in second place, spending an average of 7.8 days overseas, and spending $953 per person.
American tourists were in third place, spending an average of 7.6 days overseas, and spending an average of $1,679 per person; followed by Swedes, with 4.9 days, and spending an average of $1,122 per person; and Japanese, with 4.1 days, and spending an average of $1,547 per person. The French bring up the rear, spending an average of less than one day a year overseas, but they spend the most – an average of $1,955 per person. Adventity said that many young Israelis travel abroad for lengthy trips after their military service, but that they are careful about their expenses.
