Bajrang Dal activists not only asaulted them but also seized the animals from the van and cash present with them and registered a case against the traders in the police station. As is the case always the police accepted what the Bajrang Dal activists did. The police did not allow the reporters to take the pictures of the injured persons who were attacked by Bajrang Dal activists. The incident took place in Kundapur.

Late Friday night around 2.30am Nazeer (30) and Mohammed Hussain (40) were on their way to their native place Surathkal after purchasing 12 animals from Karinaan Shetty of Vikwadi and Nanjappa Poojary of Sasthan. The bajrang Dal who always wait to create trouble assaulted them seized the animals and a cash Rs 25,000 from them. The two traders covered with blood were handed to police and were charged of stealing the animals.

Talking to reporters, injured Nazeer told that they had two more companions with them namely Ashraf and Mohammed Mayeez who were also injured in the Bajrang Dal attack but were successful in escaping. He informed that the Bajrang Dal activists attacked them and took them to police station.

Expressing anguish over the police officials the relatives of the injured told that the Kundapur Police Station is a keep of a Bajrang Dal office rather than for public security. The police not only supported the Bajrang Dal but instead of registering case against them the police registered false allegations made by Bajrang Dal and refused to register case against the attackers.

When reporters contacted the Kundapur police station regarding the incident, the police informed that Nazeer, Mohammed Hussain, Ashraf and Mohammed Mayeez stole 2 animals from the house of Ashok of Vikwadi and 11 animals from his neighborhood and brought them in a Tata Pickup. During this the bike in front of Pickup which was ridden by Nazeer and Hussain collided by the Pickup from backside which caused injury to them. The Kundapur police have registered case against the four persons for illegally carrying animals in the van.

The police registered case based on the allegations made by Bajrang Dal activists but when reporters reached the Kundapur government hospital to take the pictures of injured persons then the police personnel present in the hospital stopped the reporters from taking the pictures and told that the high command has ordered to not to allow anyone from taking pictures of the injured. Now the police high command only can explain as to why the reporters were not allowed to take the pictures of the injured or has the police high command any other reason behind it.

The relatives of the injured informed that the doctors of Kundapur government hospital suggested shifting the injured to Venlock hospital Mangalore but the Kundapur PSI Satish Kumar did not permit to shift the injured.

Kundapur CPM, Taluk Souharda Vedike, DYFI and Popular Front of India members visited injured in the Kundapur government hospital and gathered the details from the injured persons. Later the members strongly condemned the attack made by the Bajrang Dal activists.

The people were very angry on the Kundapur PSI Satish Kumar for registering case against the injured who were attacked by Bajrang Dal activists when they were carrying animals on their vehicle. The people say that the PSI is a member of Sangha Parivar and previously also he has supported the Sangha Parivar in harassing and attacking the youths of the minority community.
